 Avonsafe

Avonsafe is the local multi-agency injury prevention partnership. Unintentional injury is a leading cause of death and illness among children and causes more children to be admitted to hospital each year than any other reason, (Audit Commission 2007). Older peoples quality of life and life expectancy can be badly affected by falling and fear of falling. Injuries happen more to some groups of people than others. Avonsafe reduces health inequalities by preventing preventable injuries from happening.

Avonsafe develops local operational plans based on the structure and priorities contained in the Avonsafe Strategy.

The Avonsafe strategy document (2008-13) is available here.
