Avon Information Management and Technology Consortium (AIMTC), Healthcare IT Team of the Year 2010, is a shared service over NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) and the wider health community. AIMTC staff work alongside staff in NHS Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset to make sure that time, money, skills and equipment are used effectively to achieve better patient care.

The NHS is increasingly reliant on the development and implementation of good Information Technology (IT) systems and AIMTC helps local Primary Care Trusts (PCTs), GPs and Community services to:

Support clinicians in delivering patient care through improved access to information services
Improve inter-organisational working
Make the best use of time and resources
