Urgent Care Service Design and Development

The Urgent Care Service Development Group is made up of a range of stakeholders from the following groups:
- Clinical representation: primary and secondary care
- Commissioning representation (local NHS Trusts)
- Managerial representation: primary and secondary care
- Public Health
- Patient/user representation
- Voluntary and community organisations
The group has a range of objectives to improve urgent care services throughout the Bristol region. These include developing a plan that:
- works towards a no delays system for both inpatient and outpatient care
- improves health outcomes and patient experience for children and young people by provides care closer to home wherever possible
- maintains a focus on prevention, timely diagnosis, rapid access to specialist treatment where needed and facilitated discharge
- are appropriate to the needs of children from all sections of the community
