Sexual Health Service Design and Development

The Sexual Health Service Development Group is made up of a range of stakeholders from the following groups:

• Clinical representation: primary and secondary care
• Commissioning representation (local NHS Trusts)
• Managerial representation: primary and secondary care
  
• Public Health
  
• Patient/user representation
  
• Voluntary and community organisations

The group has a range of objectives to improve sexual health services throughout the Bristol region. These include developing a plan that:

• improves health outcomes and patient experience for people who access sexual health and HIV services
• best uses the skills in primary care and secondary care to the greatest advantage for patients
• continues to focus on prevention, screening, timely diagnosis, accessible and effective ongoing management,
• rapid access to specialist assessment where needed and facilitated discharge
• A range of pathways for sexual health services which offer choice to patients in a variety of environments
• defines clear pathways for initial screening/treatment and follow up appointments
