Sexual Health Service Design and Development
The Sexual Health Service Development Group is made up of a range of stakeholders from the following groups:
- Clinical representation: primary and secondary care
- Commissioning representation (local NHS Trusts)
- Managerial representation: primary and secondary care
- Public Health
- Patient/user representation
- Voluntary and community organisations
The group has a range of objectives to improve sexual health services throughout the Bristol region.
These include developing a plan that:
- improves health outcomes and patient experience for people who access sexual health and HIV services
- best uses the skills in primary care and secondary care to the greatest advantage for patients
- continues to focus on prevention, screening, timely diagnosis, accessible and effective ongoing management,
- rapid access to specialist assessment where needed and facilitated discharge
- A range of pathways for sexual health services which offer choice to patients in a variety of environments
- defines clear pathways for initial screening/treatment and follow up appointments
