Elective Care Service Design and Development

The Elective Care Service Development Group is made up of a range of stakeholders from the following groups:

The group has a range of objectives to improve elective surgery services throughout the Bristol region. These include developing a plan that:

assesses the effectiveness of direct to test protocols and expand range of protocols where appropriate.
examines the national work in shifting elective work closer to home and determine where approaches can be adopted locally.
reviews the implementation of current surgery pathways to make recommendations for wider adoption.
develops options for advice and guidance referrals to replace outpatient consultation where appropriate.
optimises referral efficiency across elective care pathways including effective transfer of clinical information at each hand off.
develops a clear framework across the health community for planned surgical listings.
