Cancer Service Design and Development

The Cancer Service Development Group is made up of a range of stakeholders from the following groups:

• Commissioning representation (local NHS Trusts)
• Public Health
• Patient/user representation
• Clinical representation: primary and secondary care
• Managerial representation: primary and secondary care
• Voluntary and community organisations

The group has a range of objectives to improve cancer services throughout the Bristol region. These include developing a plan that:

• utilises the skills in primary care and secondary care to the greatest advantage for patients.
• continues to focus on prevention/screening/early diagnosis.
• offers accessible and effective ongoing management.
• enables rapid access to specialist assessment and treatment.
