Yate West Gate Centre

South
Gloucestershire residents are benefitting from a range of health,
children’s, young
people and family services
on their doorstep as the Yate
West Gate Centre opens its doors.
The Centre is a joint venture between NHS South Gloucestershire and South
Gloucestershire Council so that residents can access a wide range of
services all in one place.
The new £12 million centre will include a range of health and
family services. There will be a children’s hub within the health centre,
including a SureStart centre which offers stay and play sessions, a
Connexions drop-in office, youth clinics, maternity services and access to
health visitors.
The health centre will house GP surgeries, an x-ray facility, treatment rooms, podiatry clinic and a minor injuries unit as well as a range of outpatient clinics. A Boots pharmacy will also be open on site. NHS South Gloucestershire estimates that, after the centre is up and running, 34,000 appointments will take place at the centre every year rather than at major hospitals.
