The Vision
The Bristol Health Services Plan is currently transforming, modernising
and improving health facilities and services throughout Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
The Bristol Health Services Plan is the most comprehensive overhaul of health services
ever undertaken in the area.
The plan comprises of an over-arching model of care, a programme of service changes and a capital investment programme of over £600 million, encompassing a range of acute and community development schemes.
Patients will have access to state-of-the-art hospitals and services as well as an expanded network of facilities and services in local communities to improve patient access and convenience.
Health professionals from across the local NHS are working closely with service users and other stakeholders to decide how healthcare should be delivered in line with the ongoing changes in healthcare delivery taking place due to new technologies, treatments and research. These changes are reflected in the new designs for acute and community facilities across the region, as well as the design of the care pathways for how patients will be diagnosed and treated.
